Clue#1

My slave years were very long and hard. Some of the things us slaves had to do was be field laborers, blacksmiths, coopers, carpenters, gardeners, spinners, weavers and domestic workers.  I spent most of my time being a spinner or a weaver.  No matter what the job was it was always hard work. But one of the hardest things I had to deal with was nobody was equal.

Clue#2

My servant clothes were very simple.  I usally wore a scarf placed around my head in a knot, a long checkered kerchief around my shoulders.  I also wore a long white cotton apron so I could do certain activities without getting my dress too dirty.  Then there was my dress that went down to the ground with a blouse underneth which did not have any hoops. That's pretty much my average style.

Clue#3

I had many different tastes for foods but I only had a few favorets. The one food I was most fond of was the Apple Tansey which was everyones favoret dessert. Also peanut soup was one soup out of many that I just love. The best part about the soup is that it melts in your mouth like silk. One of my other favorites was the sheperd's pie which no one could hate because of the wonderful taste. It always seemed to be strang because most all my favoret foods were desserts. The only thing is that we got those good foods from our master's leftovers.

Clue#4

I was a very highly skilled person, my boss Peyton Randoph used to say. I was one of the richest female slaves in Peyton Randolph's household. Of course, before Peyton Randolph died in 1775, in his will Peyton bequeathed me and forevermore my children to Betty Randolph (his wife). The other female slaves always would remind me of how lucky I was to have value saved up to 100 pounds. But I wouldn't ever brag about something like that.

Clue#5

After Peyton Randolph's death Lord Dunmore set out a proclamation that offered "freedom to any slaves who desert rebellious masters and who serve in the kings forces."  Then when the word went around to me I would responded to the call and included that I would like to be one of the 8 slaves to be "gone by the enemy" and I was. Betty Randolph's will of October gave me & my son to Randolphs niece. Betty said she gave me away because of my bad behavior but who belives her.
