Clue #2
    My parents are african and I am, too.  They were slaves in Claverack, New York when I was born.  I was born in 1742.  When I was six months old I was sold to John Ashley with my sister.  I have a daughter, I call her "little bet".
 
 
 
 
 

Clue #3
    This broom is used often.  It is my favorite tool.  It is used every day.  It is very helpful when I am cleaning the house.  My favorite thing to do is sweep the floor so this is my favorite broom.  I got it from my master, John Ashley.

Clue #4
    The house I live in is not big but it is not small.  I live in Sheffield, Massachusetts.  I have never worked for anybody except John Ashley.  I have never been married, either.  When I was nearly forty my daughter and I ran away from him.  Here is a timeline of my life:

Clue #5
    I am a slave.  My nickname is "Mum Bett".  I live in Sheffield, Massachusetts and when I was working for John Ashley I was living a very bad life and that's why I ran away.  He made me get up at 4:00 in the morning and I couldn't eat dinner until 7:45 at night.  I did work all day and couldn't go to bed until 9:00.  I am always very tired.
