    Dear CT Parents:

Finally, the contents of the student lockers have been retrieved. Thank you for your patience as we waited for official permission to enter that side of the gym building. Your students will be bringing home the contents of their lockers. These items have been in the gym since before the fire and have not been cleaned.

It is up to you whether you would like to wash the clothing and keep it, or if you would like to file a claim for reimbursement from our insurance carrier. If you determine that your students’ personal articles need to be replaced due to contamination, you may request a claim form. The insurance company will only pay for items that are replaced. There is no compensation for damaged items that are retained.

If you choose to file a claim, please request a claim form from Cathy Vance in the District Office at c.vance@loma.k12.ca.us. Completed claim forms should be returned to Cathy. We expect to be able to reimburse you for the cost of the replacements before the end of the school year.

    Thank you,

    Corey Kidwell

    Our Temporary School Is Coming!

Lots will be happening in the parking lot during the month of November.  This week we will be moving the construction fence, removing the small gate by the gym, and bringing in several truckloads of gravel to make a foundation for the storage containers.  Next Tuesday, 11/10, we will be unloading the storage containers and moving them to the back of the lot between the gym and Loma.  Next Friday, 11/13, and Monday, 11/16, we are tentatively scheduled to receive our portable classroom buildings. The specific dates and times are indeterminate at this time because the 12 trucks are all coming from different parts of the State. The parking lot will be impacted by these activities! Please allow extra time to move through the parking lot and/or find a parking space. November is a great month to send your child(ren) on the school bus!

Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation.

2015 Loma Prieta Holiday Craft Faire Update
    You're Invited!
Please join us for C T English Home and School Club's annual fundraiser Holiday Craft Faire on Saturday, December 5, from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sunday, December 6 from 10 am to 4 pm. As always, admission and parking are free.

    Location Change
After the fire at the Loma Prieta gym & community center in August, we spent September searching for alternate venues that were large enough indoors and had adequate parking outdoors. From Santa Cruz and Scotts Valley to San Jose and Saratoga, at wineries and gyms, retreat centers and college campuses, places of worship and service clubs, and of course Lexington, Lakeside, and Los Gatos High schools, everyone wanted to help, but very few places had enough space or availability the first weekend in December. Finally, we found a solution.

R J Fisher Middle School Multipurpose Room
    19195 Fisher Avenue
    Los Gatos, CA 95032

Please help us get out the word out to your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers that our event is still happening this year. Our change in location is generously paid for by The Coldwell Banker Los Gatos Branch. Many, many thanks to Fisher Middle School & Coldwell Banker for coming to our rescue.

Whether you are shopping for olive oil, local honey, candles, jewelry, furniture, clothing, glass and ceramics, photography, and toys or books, your favorite artisans have been hard at work creating unique and beautiful gifts. A complete list is at our website.

We are completely at capacity with more than 50 adult vendors and a few spots for middle school students and community groups. Special thanks to many vendors who sent in their applications and checks in July and August, well before the Sept 30 deadline. They all have been flexible and supportive, even while facing downsized booth spaces and less electricity. Faire organizers and vendors already miss the fabulous amenities of the Loma Prieta gym and community center and commercial kitchen, but we hope to attract more shoppers than ever while we are in town this year.

    Volunteer Opportunities
It's a challenge to move our event even a few miles away, especially since many of our  volunteers don't drive. Although we won't be serving food this year, we will still need help from middle school students and their parents for a variety of other tasks including setup and cleanup, PR, signage, bake sale donations, etc. We'll post volunteer opportunities as they arise at our website. Community service hours will be granted to students who need them.
