The LPEF KEEP Campaign has successfully ended this year. The goal of $100,000 has been raised. Music and enrichment classes for the 2017-18 year are funded. Thank you to all the families who contributed to the last phase of our annual fundraising. The KEEP Campaign is the cash drive which often puts us over the top for our funding goals for the next school year. The extra generosity of more than 100 families continues to help us KEEP our schools strong! Thank you to the LPEF team. Fundraising is often a thankless job. Ben Abeln has finished out his first year as LPEF president in grand style. I appreciate his energy, enthusiasm, and tireless commitment to our mountain.Here are some upcoming events:

Mountain Jam returns to our community this Summer August 5th at the Gazebo playfield so save the date! Mountain Jam is a free family musical festival and picnic that features multiple professional local bands. Funds raised helps support our school music program. Between bands we also feature individual performances by young mountain musicians and vocalists.
Bring your kids, your friends, beach chairs, umbrellas, sun screen and celebrate our mountain summer at MJ17. There'll be volleyball, Frisbee, face painting, henna tattoos and snow cones. The BBQ shack will be cooking up burgers and serving refreshments. The silent auction features many high quality items including vacations, musical instruments, music lessons and many other items.
We are excited to have participation this year by Service Dogs for Children with Disabilities (www.sdcd.org). There will be a service dog demonstration and other canine education activities. If your child is interested in performing at Mountain Jam please contact me at email@example.com. We welcome student volunteers who would like to build on their community service hours.
Let’s have fun at MJ17. See you there!Root Beer Float Event – August 11th, 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Our wonderful Home and School Clubs have joined forces to scoop and pour tasty root beer floats on the grassy knoll behind the shared portable. Where is the knoll you might ask? It is between the gym and the Kindergarten playground.
Elementary school class lists will be posted for viewing. Middle school student schedules will be available for pickup until 5:30. If you are unable to attend, the class lists will remain posted. Middle school student schedules can be viewed on PowerSchool and will be available for pick up at 8 am on August 17th.First Day of School
August 17th is a minimum day. All students will be released at 12:30 pm. Remember to pack extra snacks as there is no lunch break on minimum days.Wednesday Afternoon Options
All students are released at 1:30 each Wednesday. If you are looking for supervised activities for your student on those early afternoons, you might consider Kids and Co. For more information about Kids and Co., use this link.Another option you may want to consider is Kids Club/WyldLife. Our local churches are teaming up again this coming school year to provide a Wednesday afternoon program for students. Kids Club for elementary school students and their new WyldLife program for middle schoolers are planned. Please see the attached flyers for more information.More to Come
