    The Goodwill Truck Back on the Mountain THIS MAY!

    CT English’s & Loma Prieta’s Home and School Clubs will be sponsoring our 4th Goodwill Donation and E-WASTE Drive Fundraiser this May. Your donations will provide crucial support to the lifelines of the mission at Goodwill of Silicon Valley, as well as support for CTE & Loma HSC! With our past Goodwill Trucks on the mountain, we have raised over $7,300 for our Home and School Clubs! Please continue your efforts to help our students by doing some Spring cleaning and emptying your cabinets and closets. We can’t do it without volunteers, so please sign up to help here: https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/10c084caead2ca5fb6-goodwill We are asking for C.T. parents to volunteer on Saturday and Loma Parents to volunteer on Sunday with C.T. students helping both days to earn community service hours. Hopefully, we will have enough people sign up and don’t have to scramble to get people last minute like last Truck!

    Please bring your E-WASTE, old clothes, books, household items, etc. to the Building Blocks Preschool Parking Lot at 23845 Summit Road. The truck attendant will accept donations Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20 from 9AM-4PM both days! (Please do not drop off donations while trailer is unattended.)

    Goodwill Silicon Valley Donation Drive Events Will Gladly Accept All But The Following Donations:

    • Furniture
    • Mattresses
    • Large appliances

    The 31st Annual Loma Prieta Jog-a-thon

    Last Friday was the 31st Annual Loma Prieta Jog-a-thon. It was an amazing day! The HSC is so proud of our Loma students, who ran their hearts out at the Jog-a-thon. Thank you to everyone who showed up to cheer on the students, donated to student pledges to the Jog-a-thon, and volunteered to help!

    It truly takes a mountain to put on this event, and we are grateful to the many people who helped make the Jog-a-thon happen this year.

    We are so grateful to Coach Patino for all of his help preparing for and running the Jog-a-thon. We also appreciate the help the maintenance department provided to help set up and clean up the event. And special thanks to Raquel Marin, for making sure everything ran smoothly - we wouldn't know what to do without you!

    A huge thank you to the following volunteers, who took on important volunteer roles:

    Heidi Stammers and Suzanne Merrick for running the t-shirt contest and getting the t-shirts printed and distributed; Annie Wachob for making the running tags; Crystal Nguyen for designing the t-shirts; Ricardo Moran for his help arranging sponsorships; Farzon Almaneih for being the Jog-a-thon DJ; Laura Sanders for coordinating the food for the Jog-a-thon;

    the Madrigal Family for donating delicious burritos for everyone to enjoy; Amy Olsen, Chris Werdebaugh, and Nanette Barber for taking photos; Azadeh Nolan for being our day of coordinator; Stephanie Randazzo for coordinating the class banners; Niki Mason for checking in all students' pledge sheets; Ashley Testa and Kate Biagini for tracking pledges; Mark Yoder for making the Jogathon video; Lindsay Abeln for her help as the HSC President; and a special thanks to Amanda Cismondi for organizing the lap markers and all of her help with coordination.

    Thank you also to those who counted laps, helped with set up and clean up, volunteered to help with our Loma cougar, handed out water, and helped with food the day of the Jog-a-thon.

    Thank you to Brent from Choi’s Tae Kwon Do in Scotts Valley, who helped warm up all of the students.

    And one more huge thank you to our sponsors. We really appreciate your support!
