Dear Parents;
There will be a series of low tides on the Monterey Bay in early September (see schedule below). For students who might be interested in doing marine biology research for a science fair project, we are planning three field trips to explore the tide pools and perhaps get some ideas for experiments, develop questions, and generally have a wonderful time in our beautiful Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. These trips are completely optional, can be attended by any students, and parent supervision is required. These are not school-sponsored field trips. Please dress for the weather and water.
Please RSVP via email/txt for these trips; if we do not receive responses for any one day we may not be there. Please be on-time. Meet above Cliff Beach at The Hook overlook at the end of 41st Ave. Closest parking is in the lot with the restrooms right at the end of 41st Ave. in Capitola (Pleasure Point Parking Lot; https://goo.gl/maps/ZduncpWsvsA2). We will walk south down to the tide pools right at the specified time below and walk along the shore south from there.
We hope to see you & the kids out there!
Thank you!
