Dear Loma and CT Families,
Welcome back! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving break. I would like to extend a huge “thank you” to our Home and School Clubs at both Loma and CT for providing us with such wonderful teacher appreciation lunches. Everything was delicious—what a treat! The teachers and staff feel so grateful for our supportive parent community.
Important! 2nd Grade Field Trip Change of Venue
Due to rain the 2nd grade field trip to Natural Bridges will be moved to the Seymour Marine Discovery Center. 2nd grade parents: please let your child’s teacher know by Thursday (11/29) at 7:30 a.m. if you do NOT give permission for your child to participate in this adjusted activity. Thanks!
Do you love to play chess? Would you like to bring your enthusiasm for the game to an eager group of Loma students? Let me know! I am looking to create a lunchtime chess club, but I need to find an adult to take the lead. Let me know if you are interested! I can guarantee fun!
We would like to remind you that if your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. If your child was sent home with a fever, they must be fever free, without medication, for 24 hours before they may return to school. The holidays are fast approaching and we all want to stay healthy.
My Top Three Moments of the Week
- Greeting a sleepy-looking group of kids as school resumed on Monday morning.
- Coming back to school to find the trees bright with fall colors.
- Watching Coach Patino’s PE classes do yoga on this rainy Wednesday morning.

Our reconstruction project is continuously moving forward. Wing A’s roof is complete and is watertight. Wing B’s roof is complete and water tight as well. The 1st phase of finish concrete has started and will consist of the area between Wing B and the gym. This area is scheduled to be poured on 11/29, and will affect the access to the gym. Students and the community will be directed to the rear doors of the gym while this work is performed. Wing A is getting the second coat of stucco applied and should be finished on 11/21 then the finish coat will be applied and should be completed on 11/28. Wing B’s windows have been installed and the rough electrical, plumbing and mechanical have been inspected. Insulation and sheet rock are getting installed in areas where it will not interfere with other work that needs to be completed. During the past three months we have averaged 40 workers on site daily. This has impacted parking for everyone; the district and contractors appreciate your patience as we try to move quickly through this project. We now are currently 208 days into construction and have had zero injuries during this project.

CT Lost & Found
Once again we find our selves overflowing with Lost & Found items. If you are missing your students coats, sweatshirts, water bottles, lunch boxes, sports items, etc. Don’t go buy new ones please come look for their lost items. The CT Lost & Found will be displayed under the overhang between the office and the library. We will try to keep items displayed until our Dec break. If it is raining items will be in our normal lost & found location near the library door facing our courtyard. All items will be donated to those in need over the December break.

Let's return the favor in earnest...
