Dear Loma and CT Families,
My Top Three Moments of the Week
- Greeting the first graders as they returned from their field trip to the Children’s Discovery Museum. It sounds like a good time was had by all!
- Having the opportunity to hang out with Mrs. Templeton’s class during free choice time. What cuties!
- Seeing Ms. Dorn’s bulletin board in the front office at Loma. It is adorable and captures each of her students’ personalities perfectly!
Lost and Found
Please check the lost and found by the end of school on Friday! All unclaimed items will be donated to the Goodwill.
Do you love to play chess? Would you like to bring your enthusiasm for the game to an eager group of Loma students? Let me know! I am looking to create a lunchtime chess club, but I need to find an adult to take the lead. Let me know if you are interested! I can guarantee fun!

Our reconstruction project is continuously moving forward. Wing A is getting the finishing coat of stucco applied to it and is scheduled to be complete by 12/17. Early in the morning of 12/4, we brought out a 110-ton lifting capacity crane to lift the make-up air units onto the roofs of the buildings. This size of crane was needed to be able to extend completely over the existing portables and drop the units into place on the roofs safely. The finishes have begun to get installed in Wing A. The sheetrock is complete in the kitchen and the fire proof finishes are now being installed. In the other rooms of Wing A the sheetrock is being installed. The ceiling tiles and light fixtures are expected to be installed by 12/19. The concrete forms are being set up for the East side of Wing B and, depending on weather, should be poured on 12/7. This will affect the access to the gym; students and the community will be directed to the rear doors of the gym while this work is performed. Wing B’s stucco is scheduled to start on 12/10. Unfortunately, the window manufacturer incorrectly made 5 windows and they have been to be sent back the manufacturer to be fixed. The windows are expected to be installed on 12/10. The fire sprinkler system has been inspected and is 100% complete for both wings. The past three months we have averaged 40 workers on site daily. This has impacted parking for everyone. The district and contractors appreciate your patience as we try to move quickly through this project. We now are currently 215 days into construction and have had zero injuries during this project and no lost days due to adverse weather.
