My Top Three Moments of the Week
- Learning all about the American flag from the CT Leo’s Club at the Loma assembly.
- Singing, “This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land,” with our fabulous first graders.
- Cheering on the teams at the semi-finals of Coach’s Lunch Bunch basketball tournament.
Open House (5/23)
All families are invited to join us for Open House this Thursday evening. Loma’s Open House will start at 6:30 and CT’s will start at 7:00. Hope to see you there!
6th Grade Orientation (5/23)
All Fifth Grade Parents are invited to our 6th grade Orientation. This orientation will take place in the new classroom 21 (near the gym), on Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m. We will be presenting information regarding expectations and realities of 6th grade.
8th Grade Geometry (5/30)
We are making changes to the 8th grade Geometry program option for 2019-2020. If you are interested in this option, please join us on May 30 at 6:30 PM in the Loma forum to learn details about the program.
Seeking School Site Council Members
The School Site Council (SSC) is a group of teachers, parents, and staff, from both CT and Loma, who works with the principal to develop, review and inform decisions and advise on academics, parent engagement, safety and school climate. We have seen a significant increase in KEEP! activity over the past week! THANK YOU to all who have donated volunteered your precious time and shared your thoughts. To date 93 families have donated (up from 26 families last week) and our current total is $74,000 (up from $25,000 last week). This is fantastic momentum and we need to KEEP! (See what we did there) it up in order to hit our goal of $200,000 and 100% participation (through donations or by volunteering your time) by June 30th. 8th-grade Grad Night Party forms due Friday!
RSVPs, payment and permission slips for the June 1 CTE Grad Night Party are due to the main office this Friday, May 24. If your student is planning to attend, please have them return the forms to Julie this week. Also, if parents would like to order the party favor for your child, that order must be placed by end of day today (Wednesday). Please see your email for more information, or contact email@example.com with any questions. Thank you to the many parents who have already volunteered to help at the event, provided donations and underwrite activities - it is going to be a great night for the graduates!

End of year Picnic SAVE THE DATE!
Please join us on May 31st, staring 4pm on the Building Blocks field in celebrating what a fabulous year this has been! We have arranged for a food truck or two, HSCs will provide desert & this year have partnered up with LPCF for the after party! They will have their concession treats set up and when it gets dark show the new Academy award winning Spiderman, Into the Verse movie under the redwoods in the Amphitheatre. Mountain Jam 2019
Mountain Jam will be held again this year on Saturday, September 7th at the Loma Prieta Playfield and Gazebo. Mountain Jam is a free family music festival and picnic that features local bands and individual performances by young mountain musicians and vocalists. Proceeds from sale of silent auction items and concessions directly benefit the music program at CT and Loma. Any student or student music group who is interested in performing should contact Jean Niemann at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, any students who want to volunteer the day of the event and earn community service hours should reach out to the same email.
