Dear Loma and CT Families,
My Top 3 Moments of the Week...
- Playing Loma Prieta Jeopardy at the Friday Assembly.
- Watching CT kids play a lively game of indoor soccer with Coach Skip during lunch recess.
- Seeing our revitalized Loma garden take shape! A huge “Thank you” to all of our parent volunteers who have made this ambitious project come to life. See below for more information on how you can get involved. Also, check out this cool video of the tractor filling the new garden bed. https://youtu.be/6GkzVQk9nsI

Loma Prieta Elementary School Garden Project
The Loma Veggie Garden rehabilitation project is in full-swing! Over the summer a team of parents removed truckloads of weeds and prepared the site for brand new beds. A demonstration bed with a variety of plants and an herb garden have been completed. By early October, each classroom will have a brand new bed to plant with fall crops for science based lessons and garden curriculum.
The teachers are looking for garden parent volunteers who can help take small groups of students into the garden for short activities - no experience needed, all supplies and information will be provided! If you are interested, please talk to your child’s teacher.
We are looking for donations to help purchase fruit trees for the south fence - a donation of $100 to the Loma Home & School Club will help purchase a specially selected tree that will thrive at our site and produce fruit during the school year, plus a gopher basket, fertilizer and irrigation. If you choose to sponsor a fruit tree, you can plant it with your family or donate it to your child’s class to plant. The Loma HSC is also looking for donations to cover larger garden items such a picnic table, a bench, a potting table and a hand washing station.
Sign up now to reserve your fruit tree with the link below (and we will also have a sign up at Back to School Night):https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080C4EA8A62CAAF49-help
If you are a gardener or builder and would like to help with the construction of the new beds, please contact Adelia Rowland at email@example.com

Every year, LPEF wows the mountain with the annual Gala and this year's CASINO ROYALE promises to be an evening of epic fun. Part of what makes our Gala a huge success is our world-class auction. The annual Gala attracts bidders outside of our mountain community and attendees from all over the world! What sets us apart and makes our event such a success?
Parent and school community and volunteers. The Gala committee works throughout the year to collect and create magical experiences, gift baskets, curated art and unique adventures with many of our incredible items come from our mountain community.
Do you have a talent, creation, or experience to contribute to this year's event?
Any and all items are welcome, including:
-Hosted events, parties or classes for adults and/or families
-Unique experiences and tours
-Original art and jewelry
-Gift certificates of any denomination
-New or unused luxury gift items
-New or unused electronics
Please contact Erin Asheghian at firstname.lastname@example.org with your item donation or with any questions. Thank you for your support and contribution!

C.T. English Home and School Club Goodwill Truck Fundraiser
The fundraising results are in from our donation drive this past weekend - Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25. The community donated 27,554 pounds of goods that translated into a payment of $4,002.14 to CT English Home and School Club. What an amazing event! All of the money raised from the donation events supports teachers and programs at C.T. English Middle School.
Thank you all so very much for making this a very successful event for our middle school and for Goodwill of Silicon Valley.
We have two more drives on the calendar in December 2019 and May 2020. We hope that you will support us then.
