    Dear Loma and CT Families,

My Top 3 Moments of the Week...

    1. Seeing all our kiddos in their funny, cute, and sometimes scary costumes on Halloween!
    2. Practicing first aid and CPR strategies with our teaching staff on Friday. It is comforting to know we are prepared!
    3. Welcoming Loma and CT kids back to school on an especially beautiful and sunny Monday morning.

    Loma Milk Program

Due to the fires in Northern California, our milk order has been halted for the last week. We expect the delivery to start again by next week, at the latest.  If you would like a refund for the days that your child did not receive milk, please email our district CBO, Cathy Vance at c.vance@loma.k12.ca.us. Students who have order Choice Lunch have had milk as an option.  Our apologies for the inconvenience!

    Book Fair Is Coming

Our book fair is fast approaching and we are in need of volunteers to make this a successful event. This is our sole fundraising event for the school libraries with proceeds benefiting both Loma and CTE libraries.

Please consider volunteering. Typically, we are busiest right after school. We will need 5 to 6 volunteers per day. The schedule on the sign-up site is flexible. To sign up, visit the Loma Library webpage or go to: https://volunteer.scholastic.com/#/signup/oqONmyIW8

Book Fair dates are Nov 18th through Nov 21st.

The 2019 Gala event was a great night enjoyed by many and one that raised $80K towards our LPEF goal of $400K to support programs in the 2020/21 academic year. We are grateful for the generous support of those who joined us for the evening festivities.

That being said, we do have more work ahead of us, as total funds for the event and attendance at the event itself fell short of our projections this year. Our Gala Top Hat donations, totaling $22,350 were also approximately half of lasts years actuals.

We are confident that we can close the gap such that we can preserve important school programs in our Loma schools, but we will need your continued support to do so. We are in the process of planning some NEW events for this year which may help in this endeavor. Stay tuned for details coming soon! Your attendance at LPEF events is critical to our continued success.

Our direct giving KEEP! campaign is a major component of our fundraising efforts. Thanks to those of you that participated in our monthly donation option, we have already raised $14K towards our goal for this year. Last year, we increased our participation rates from 10% to 50% based upon the renewed enthusiasm of our parent community. This year we are aiming for 70% participation at any level of giving. We are hoping we can count on your support again this year.

For those who may be unaware of our primary mission, LPEF funds direct support for student learning that extends beyond the core curriculum by supplementing middle school elective offerings in the areas of art, music/band, theatre arts, STEM, creative technology, world language, and yearbook/publications, along with elementary school programs that include P.E., science, Art in Action, music, and Big Cat Band. The funds also assist with support services, counseling, and library services for all students.
