Suggested Learning Activities
During School Closure
No credit will be awarded for any of these learning activities, they are optional and will not be graded. No work will be collected during the closure or after the school reopens.
I do encourage you to use this time to work on your math skills! Keeping them fresh will go along way when we do return to school.
All information during the school closure will be on this page and this page alone.

Hi Students,
Your teachers are gearing up to transition from Suggested Learning Activities to Distance Learning Phase 1. Information will be sent out from Mrs. Fraser on how this will actually happen in the next day or so. We will have a class meeting on Friday to practice using our tech and to say hi!!! I miss you all! More information will be coming you way on how to log onto the meeting, etc. For now, keep enjoying your time with the suggested learning activities.
The first couple answer pages for the packet are linked here.

Virtually See You Soon,
Mrs. DePiazza
If you started the activities from earlier this week (listed at the bottom), great!
Here are some others for you to work on, both online or offline. I will most likely be updating this page again early next week.
Offline:
- Create another scaled drawing like our BIG ART project - My Big Art.pdf
- Try this review packet: Review Packet
Online:
- Khan - Work on 7th grade content or try out Pre-Algebra content. We've covered most of both content areas so far this year.
- You could always work on your multiplication fluency: https://www.multiplication.com/games/all-games
- Desmos...it is a little different then how we did it in class, but might be fun to explore the geometry section based on our recent work in class https://learn.desmos.com
I miss you all!!! Have a great time with your families:)

Mar 18 Wed - Secret Shape
Hi Pigs and Turtles,
I miss you! I am enjoying my time at home though. I have two projects going on: painting the inside trim of my windows white (I know really exciting...actually it is with kids running around!) and gardening (which really is excitiing!). I'm trying to keep the deer out with fishing line. Do you think it will work? What projects are you doing?
The answers to yesterday's color by number is here: Color by Number Solutions
Today's Suggested Learning Activity is a puzzle that is also about combining like terms. Have a great time:) Remember that x and x squared cannot be combined. Secret Shape
Thanks,
Mrs. DePiazza

Mar 17 Tues - Color by Number and Lines Test Remediation
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Wishing you all a bit o' luck today!
Solutions to Yesterday's Work:
I hope you enjoyed that activity and played around with it by looking deep into Constantinople or how to approximate square roots. Heron Solutions.pdf
Suggested Learning Activity:
Your suggested learning activity is to do a color-by-number (well, actually a color-by-algebra). There is one here StPatricksDayMathAlgebraEquationsColorByNumber.pdf, or you can create your own (on paper or with a drawing program online). Try to do it by simplifying and undoing the equation instead of plugging in the numbers...that way works too, but doesn't give you practice solving the equations.
Have a great day!
~Mrs. DePiazza

Mar 16 Mon - Heron - Week 27
Today's Learning Activity is learning a little about a great Mathematician, Heron.
Please feel free to read the article and answer the questions on the second page. Feel free to use the internet to look up information/maps/read more about Heron.
