April 15, 2020
Dear Loma Families,
After careful consideration and a fair amount of soul searching, I have decided to return to the classroom in the 2020-2021 school year, here at Loma. I gave my formal resignation to Ms. Fraser, the Board, and our staff in February and had planned to share this information with the school community in March, but as the Coronavirus sent us into crisis mode, it did not seem like the appropriate time. I now see that my timing might never seem just right!
I have so enjoyed having the opportunity to lead our schools over these two years. In the end, I just really miss being able to do what I am the most passionate about: teaching kids! I am so thankful for all the patience, support, and kindness I have received from our teachers, staff, kids, and the community. I want to especially thank our fearless leader, Lisa Fraser. Her guidance, mentorship and never-wavering confidence in my abilities has made this a positive and valuable learning experience. I know I will return to the classroom a stronger teacher and leader. I have no doubt that Ms. Fraser will find a new principal who shares our schools’ collective vision. My dedication to our schools has never been stronger. I look forward to helping to support a smooth transition for our schools.
Parents, please note that due to the COVID-19 school closure mandate, IEP progress reports may be delayed in being sent home because we have had limited access to the classroom. You can expect to receive a completed progress report that will be emailed directly to you by the case manager at the earliest opportunity.
School Closure Reminder
The Loma and CT school offices are closed. The District Office is staffed. If you need to visit the District Office, please call ahead to 408-353-1101 to schedule a time. Drop-ins are discouraged in accordance with the current shelter-in-place order.
Stay healthy and be well,
Karren Zook, Principal

As we all embrace the many changes and challenges in this rapidly evolving situation, we rely on many critical skills to help us cope daily. Our successes are based in critical thinking, creative talent, emotional intelligence, and responsibility.
Our enjoyment comes from physical activity, artistic talent, music appreciation, and DIY-ing it. These are the skills that our children develop in their programs at school.
Why Give to KEEP! When You Can Give Elsewhere?
A good education is something that we want for our children. They develop the knowledge and skills needed to manage
future opportunities and challenges in their school programs. We can’t predict the world that they will live in but, we can send them out strong. This is why LPEF continues to fundraise during this pandemic.
Our Fundraising Priorities
Our KEEP! Goal this year is to raise 225K by June 30, 2020. Donations to our KEEP! campaign fund provides over two thirds of the LPEF annual budget. We rely on your continued generosity to fund these essential programs in our schools:
