    Dear Loma Families,

My Top Three Moments of the Week (at Virtual School)

    1. Joining the 3rd grade for their “virtual” Star Party! Thanks to our fabulous Mrs. Van Zante and Mrs. Bowen for giving up their Friday night to make this memorable event happen!
    2. Learning a Japanese Mochi clapping game with Ms. Lelake and Ms. Zanotto’s 4th grade class.
    3. Zooming with Loma and Lakeside 5th graders as they asked their great questions to our panel of CT experts!

    End of the Year

In order to provide adequate time for our teachers and staff to close down their classrooms, collect and return materials, while also meeting socially distancing requirements, our last day for Zoom meetings will be Tuesday, May 26th.  All students will attend their core classes that day, so that teachers can bring closure to the year (see special schedule below).

Although May 26th will be the last day for Zoom, school is NOT over! This time is intended to provide student with the opportunity to complete any missing or late assignments and submit them to their teachers.  All work should be submitted by the end of the day on Monday, June 1st.

During the week of June 1-4, students and families will be provided with a scheduled time to pick up their personal possessions from their classroom supplies, as well as return any borrowed items (library books, textbooks, etc.) to the school.

    Save the Date!

Though we can’t be together in person, we want to recognize all the hard work and dedication of our promoting students. We will be celebrating our students as they transition to new phases of their lives through virtual promotions this year. Please save the date and plan to join us:

    • Loma 5th Grade Promotion: Wednesday, June 3rd at 1pm (link to come!)
    • CT 8th Grade Graduation: Thursday, June 4th at 4pm (link to come!)

    New Kinder Orientation: Postponed

We have elected to postpone our New Kinder Orientation (originally scheduled for 5/20).  We plan to hold an orientation for kindergarten families once we have a clearer picture of what school will look like when we resume in August, in order to best support our new students in their transition.

    School Closure Reminder

The Loma and CT school offices are closed. The District Office is staffed. If you need to visit the District Office, please call ahead to 408-353-1101 to schedule a time. Drop-ins are discouraged in accordance with the current shelter-in-place order.

    Stay healthy and be well,

    Karren Zook, Principal
