Dear Loma and CT Families:
I hope that this week’s information finds you, your family, and loved ones safe. The local fires
have spread our families far and wide. Kids have been Zooming in to their classrooms from as
far away as Tahoe, Southern California, Washington D.C., and Colorado. When we first put
together our roll out plans for the new school year, we knew that we needed to introduce
students slowly to their new Zoom classrooms to build in time for connections, teacher support,
family meetings, and technology glitches. Who knew at that time that this would allow some of
our families to relocate without the additional stress of missing assignments and deadlines.
Some of you have been able to join your classrooms despite unforeseen challenges, while
others had to leave everything behind and have been unable to connect. Know that no student
will be penalized for any attendance issues or late or missing assignments that were the result
of an inability to connect to virtual classrooms caused by recent power outages or evacuations.
Regardless of your situation, we are with you in spirit and in community. Our teachers are
committed to supporting all our kids get back in the swing of things as soon as your family is
able.
NEWS FROM LPEF
A month ago, mountain mom Elyse Fairweather designed a Mountain Strong logo to
acknowledge everything our kids, school staff, and community have been through the last few
months and to raise money to help support vital school programs. This message is even MORE
true today as our community has weathered pandemics, fires, evacuations, power outages, and
heat waves. As a mountain we help our neighbors, show up when called, and care deeply about
each other. We stand together as a community - with courage and resilience, to overcome these
challenges.
This logo is available on a variety of items in many different sizes, styles and colors. Bonfire will
donate a generous percentage of all profits back to LPEF (Loma Public Education Fund). To
purchase visit https://www.bonfire.com/lpef/.To learn more about LPEF visit,

families are safe. See attached flyer to view the new logo.
Best,
Dr. Billy Martin, Principal

CT NEWS
CT Middle School Virtual Back to School Night September 10, 2020 6:30pm
Mark your calendars for this CT event. More information at a later date.
CT Middle School Schedules
Middle School students' weekly schedule includes both live synchronous meetings 2 days a
week and 3 days of asynchronous assigned independent learning activities based on cohort
number. This cohorting model allows for smaller virtual class sizes and will allow for greater
social distancing in on campus classrooms when we are able to return to in-person instruction
without disrupting course schedules. This schedule also allows for teachers to offer
individualized support to students in small groups or one-to-one. Your child’s teachers will
provide students with instructions on how to access this support. Middle School teachers are
available to support students in understanding the complexities of this year’s schedules.
Attached are the middle school schedules for Cohort 1 and Cohort 2.
CT Home and School Club News

hoping to have the truck here December 12th and 13th, if restrictions lift. More news to follow on that topic later.
