December 9, 2020
We continue to be in the Purple or most restrictive tier with regard to Covid-19. County public health officials have placed Santa Clara County in a shelter in place due to the surge in hospitalizations that threaten to exceed capacity. This shelter in place asks that you do not mix households, refrain from leisure travel, and places capacity limits on neighborhood businesses. If you plan to travel this holiday season, keep in mind that Santa Clara County has initiated a mandatory quarantine period of 14 days upon return from travel of more than 150 miles.
Thank you in advance for doing your part to adhere to these mandates to slow the spread and allow our schools to reopen.

Every Kid Outdoors Program
The USDA Forest Service announced it will expand its Every Kid Outdoors program to offer fourth- and fifth-grade students and family members fee-free access to more than 2,000 sites on national forests and grasslands for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. A new voucher is available for download now through Aug 31, 2021.
Every Kid Outdoors is a federal public lands partnership created to inspire fourth-grade students and their families across America to recreate, explore cultures, discover connections to nature and spark a lifelong passion for America’s great outdoors. The program focuses on children ages 9–11 who, research shows, are beginning to understand the world around them, and are uniquely receptive to engaging with nature and the environment. By focusing on this age group year after year, the program aims to ensure every child in the United States has the opportunity to create a life-long connection to America's big backyard.
To obtain a free 4th/5th Grade Voucher, visit the Every Kid Outdoors webpage, click on “Get Your Pass”, and download a voucher. The voucher is valid between Nov 12, 2020, and Aug 31, 2021 to correspond to the traditional school year.

LEOs Holiday Activity Calendar
The Los Gatos High School LEOs have created a brand new Los Gatos Holiday calendar for everyone in our community to enjoy, and our CT English Middle School LEOs are helping with it, too!
Each day in December, a new activity on the calendar opens. Activities range from art projects and storytelling to town events and activities. The activities are appropriate for all ages, but the LEO's really wanted to create something special for elementary age children since this year has been so difficult. The LEO's hope the calendar will help families stay active and entertained during this holiday season. Dec 1-31, 2020 at https://www.lghsleos.com
