How to Become a Parent Volunteer
Loma Prieta Elementary and C.T. English Middle Schools both welcome parent volunteers in different ways. Parent volunteers in our elementary classrooms are integral to our success and a wonderful way to get to know other families in your child’s grade level. At the middle school, parents most frequently volunteer through coaching or helping with after school sports, the C.T. Home and School Club activities and the, always popular, “Snack Shack.” All volunteers need to have a current clear TB test on file with the District. TB test results are valid for four years. Parents with a current TB test on file do not have to provide additional copies of the clearance form. Updated test results can be turned in to the school or district offices.Parents who would like to coach or chaperone any overnight field trips must also have a current Live Scan fingerprint clearance on file with the District. This process takes some time to complete so we suggest that parents start well in advance. Once our district office has cleared your fingerprints, they will remain active in the reporting process throughout your child’s attendance at District schools. We cannot accept reports from other schools, sporting leagues, or employers, as the DOJ does not transfer reporting files between agencies. For more information on how to complete this process at no cost to you, please contact Eileen Bevans-Franks or (408) 353-1101.
The Loma Prieta Home & School Club will have on-site TB testing available on Wednesday, Sept 9, 2015 from 8:15 am-9:30 am in the Loma Classroom #1 (the classroom just outside and to the left of the Loma office as you are entering). Cost is $35 cash or check. To be eligible, you must have no history of a positive TB skin test and must be present for the follow up check on Friday, Sept 11, 2015 between 8:15 am- 8:45 am. Follow-up check will also be in the Loma Classroom #1.
