Thank you to all who were able to join us yesterday evening for CT’s back to school night. I am very grateful that we were able to meet in-person for you to meet your child’s teachers. For parents of elementary students, I’ll get to see you next week.

It’s wonderful to see our school campus alive again with students, teachers and full of energy!

LPEF is thrilled to announce that tickets for the 2021 Gala are now available from our website at LPEF.org.

Join us for an evening of fun, friendship and fundraising on Saturday, October 2nd from 4-10pm at Maison Du Lac. We are looking for auction items to be donated for our silent and live auctions, please reach out to erin.asheghian@gmail.com if you have any leads on this.

Know Someone Who Would Like to Join our Loma Team?

We have a couple positions open for qualified educators to join our team as para-educators. If you know someone who is great working with youth, is a kind and caring human, please direct him or her to our EdJoin.org page and search for Loma using the district search function.

    3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Classroom Presentations - 7:20-8:00pm, your child’s classroom.

To keep back-to-school night as safe as possible, we will be working to limit the size of gatherings indoors. Therefore, we request that only 1 person per child attend. Back to school nights are adult only events. There will be no childcare on campus and no playground supervision.

    Parking Lot Reminder

Thank you for your patience in the parking lot. I want to remind everyone of a few things when dropping off and picking up your child.

    1. Safety is our first priority when it comes to parking lot and traffic flow. Keeping traffic off Summit Road is part of that safety commitment. As difficult as it is to hear, preventing you from waiting in traffic lines is not the main concern when it comes to the parking lot. Plan for your pickup accordingly to give yourself plenty of time by arriving early and parking or arriving a little bit later after most of the traffic has subsided.
    2. Staff members who are in the parking lot are there to keep everyone safe. Please be kind to them. It is a dangerous and thankless job.
    3. At pick up, the right lane is for CT only pick up. With the bus lanes, there is only room at the school pick up lane in front of CT for about 5-6 cars. That is not enough to prevent a backup onto Summit Road. The left lane is for parents picking up Loma students, CT students with Loma siblings, and accessing the lower parking lot. This lane will back up prior to our 2:45pm release time.

Thank you for your help with this challenging issue. Being patient, giving yourself plenty of time and resigning to the fact that you will wait in traffic lines will help our entire school community.

    Peanut Free School Reminder

To clear up recent confusion, we are a PEANUT FREE school district. Please do not send your child to school with peanuts or other peanut products including peanut butter.

We do have some classrooms with students who have life threatening allergies to other nuts. If your child has peers in their classroom with allergies to other nuts, your child’s teacher will inform you that your child’s classroom is a nut free space.

    Free One-On-One Math Tutoring

The new school year has started and Mountain Math Initiative is ready to offer FREE math support for Kindergarten-Algebra 1 students. The best time to start is before any struggles in math become apparent. We have many dedicated Loma and CT alumni volunteers that would love to work with our community’s kids. If you are interested in setting up free one-on-one tutoring, specified to your child's needs, please reach out to the MMI Volunteer Coordinator, Marcella Jones ( mountainmarcella@gmail.com ) to be matched with a tutor. Additionally, MMI is offering Algebra 1 Prep. and Intro to Calculus as extension courses, slated to start at the end of August, so contact us now if you want to get your child enrolled.
