Resources for Parents

As parents and guardians of emerging adolescents, your continued partnership in your child’s education is essential.  Parent involvement on a middle school campus is different from that in elementary school, but your kids still need to know that you care and are involved (even if they tell you otherwise).  The C.T.E. Home and School Club provides many opportunities for you to volunteer for activities supporting C.T. English students.

The middle school years are an exciting time of change and growing independence.  We strive to meet your child’s educational needs in an engaging and developmentally appropriate context.  Please explore the resources here on our site and feel free to ask any additional questions you have.

Supplies List

Back-to-school shopping for school supplies can be a fun tradition.  Picking out a backpack and a binder is often a milestone of each new year.  The California Constitution guarantees that every student has access to a free and appropriate education in public schools.  Donating supplies is greatly appreciated, but never required.

At the beginning of the school year, teachers will also provide a list of additional items, specifically tailored to their grade level, to which they hope students will have access.   Teachers gladly provide items to students whose families are unable to make contributions.

Following is a list of generic supplies needed for every class (quantity varies depending upon student use)

  • pencils #2

  • blue and black ink pens

  • 4 or 5 color highlighter pens

  • colored pencil set

  • binder paper

  • graph paper

  • binder section dividers

  • 3x5 index cards

  • Large pink erasers

  • glue sticks
