Project Cornerstone is an initiative across Santa Clara County school districts focused on supporting the 40 developmental assets, or building blocks, that research has shown all children and youth need to succeed in school and in life. Project Cornerstone programs seek to strengthen families, neighborhoods, communities and schools. The Loma Prieta School District partners with Project Cornerstone to provide training in the developmental assets to students, teachers, parents and administrators. Loma Prieta Elementary School’s coveted “Cougar Awards” are built on the word of the week drawn from the Project Cornerstone initiatives at the school. CT English Middle School students have the opportunity to serve as mentors in Loma classrooms to connect Cornerstone themes to our schools.
