COVID Information Update

Dear Loma Prieta and CT English Parents and Guardians,
Happy Monday! We are glad to report that we successfully tested all our staff and students this morning prior to anyone entering any classrooms. We are fortunate that we only had less than a handful of students test positive with us this morning. In addition, we were notified by parents of a few other students who did not come to school this morning that their child had recently tested positive and would be quarantining at home. We appreciate all our parents keeping us informed so that we can support your child academically. This information also allows us to amend our Covid testing list so we do not retest your student for 90 days from symptom onset, or from the date of your positive test if you remained asymptomatic.
If your child has tested positive for Covid over the winter break, please email Diane Harit at D.Harit@loma.k12.ca.us with the date of the positive test and the name of the child so that we can update our Covid testing list. Your child will need to remain in quarantine for 10 days from either the date of the onset of symptoms or the date of the positive test (whichever came first). Thank you!
On Tuesday, your child will receive an "At-Home" Covid test kit. The kit contains 2 tests that you can use whenever you are concerned about your child. Step-by-step directions and a link to video instructions will be coming home tomorrow in a separate message.
Also, we have decided to test all students again on Thursday (similar to how we did today) to coincide with Day 5 from New Year's Eve weekend events. After this week, we will return to our regular weekly testing pattern until further notice.
