Loma Letter, Wednesday, May 28th
May 28, 2014
Dear CT and Loma Parents:
The end of the school year is fast approaching. There’s lots of information going out so read all emails/memos sent home and look at the calendar for dates and times of events. Call Raquel at 408-353-1106 for any questions.
5th Grade Promotion starts promptly at 8:45am get here early!
Spring Pictures – A separate email was sent out last week regarding the change in how to find your child’s picture. In case you did not read the email, the instructions are attached below.
The Nuts and Bolts Season
Graduation Attire – It is the time of year when families are choosing promotion/graduation attire for their 5th and 8th grade students. We always get many questions about the “dress code” for the events. The bottom line is that these are elementary and middle school events and school dress code is enforced. No strapless dresses or spaghetti straps without a wrap, shawl or shrug that must remain on. Shoes must be appropriate for the procession and climbing stairs. Dress or skirt length must be comfortable to be worn on an elevated stage. Students generally do dress up a little. Young men’s shirts should be tucked in or look neat. Ties are not required. No low rider pants. Our events are above a casual level but nowhere near formal. We want students to be able to participate in the movement associated with the event and not risk embarrassment. A good rule of thumb is that if you can’t wear it to school, don’t wear it to graduation. If you have questions, please feel free to ask.
Speaking of Dress Code
Spring is in the air. Please remember that we have a dress code at both schools. If your student is out of dress code, they will either be asked to call home for a change of clothes or change into their PE uniform for the remainder of the day. This holds true for Film Festival too!
Head’s Up 5th Grade Parents:
CT Home and School Club is looking forward to welcoming 5th grade parents to CT over coffee/pastries Friday, May 30th after drop off at 8:30a in the CC room. Later that morning, the 5th graders will come by for the CT campus tour and lunch at Snack Shack. Please send your kids with between $3-5 if the want to buy lunch. Come learn about all the fun that takes place across the parking lot at CT.
KEEP us Strong!
Thank you to all who donated today at donation day. We are pleased to announce that we can now fund Tier 3 for our 6th and 7th grade elective and technology instructional support.
We are still collecting movies to fund tier4. Inclusive Enrichment for grades 4-8 and K-5 music are still at risk. If you are still considering a donation, we take all sizes; please know that our options for kids next year will be greatly enhanced with your investment in our schools.
The spring pictures are on line and ready to view. We tried to simplify the process by separating each class into there own folder while keeping the log in EVENT CODE the same.
Here are the steps to view:
2--click on STUDIO ONLINE
3--enter event code lomaspring2014 (no spaces)
4--log in and find your students Teacher Folder (located across tool bar top of page)
Package orders will be mailed to the parent’s home. Let us know if you have any question,
Steve and Sandy
