Early learning and later life success depends on attending school. There are long-term positive outcomes for youth who attend school each day. Creating routines for strong attendance can help youth avoid chronic absenteeism.

Reminder: This week (Sept 18-22) is conference week at Loma Prieta Elementary. Every day is a minimum day (12:30pm dismissal) for Loma students ONLY.

School has begun and attendance is key to student success. Chronic absenteeism is when students miss 10% or more school days of the school year. During the 2020-21 school year, nationwide, there were at least 10.1 million students who were chronically absent.

The Board would like to provide our community with an opportunity to talk with Board members in a more informal setting. These “Board Chats” will allow community members to engage a Board member and the Superintendent in conversations regarding district-wide topics. While no decisions can be made at these meetings, items discussed could potentially become future Board items to be addressed by all Board members.
Our next “Board Chat” will take place Tuesday, September 5th in Room 21 at 8:30 AM. For those that feel more comfortable attending remotely, we will be providing the opportunity to participate via Zoom.
